Organizers and participants of the upcoming 'Heal Our Land' prayer event gathered at Grace Ministries International on September 29 to prepare for the event.

With about one month left before the multi-ethnic ‘Heal Our Land’ prayer gathering, Korean, Korean American, and other ethnic leaders gathered at Grace Ministries International on Thursday to continue to prepare for the event, which is set to take place on October 23 from 5 to 8 PM at the Anaheim Convention Center.

This year will be the second time Korean church leaders have organized this event. The first ‘Heal Our Land’ prayer gathering drew a few thousand to the Anaheim Convention Center last November.

“This country is going through a spiritual shipwreck,” said Rev. Paul Gihong Han, the senior pastor of Grace Ministries International and the head organizer of the event. “But we can recover and save this ship. But that recovery is in the hands of God, and God works through those who pray.”

About a dozen other ethnic leaders from white, African American, Latino American, and Middle Eastern communities were present at the preparation gathering, along with Korean American pastors Rev. Stephen Chong of Revival Church and Rev. Jeff Hyun of Holy Wave, the English ministry of Sa-Rang Community Church.

Organizers have also met with college and young adult ministries such as SOON Movement and HYM (Here I Am Young Christian Movement) to encourage college students and young adults to participate, and are planning to hold multiple preparation meetings in the coming weeks at different regions, including the Inland Empire, South Bay, Cerritos, Orange County, and Los Angeles.
