Fans Will Not Like This

A major change in the upcoming season of 'Game of Thrones' that will premiere summer, 2017, HBO just confirmed some details about the much-anticipated series. The cable television company announced last Monday, July 18, that the upcoming 'Game of Thrones' season will only comprise seven episodes.

Also, aside from its usual April premiere, the new season will air June 2017. Production was also delayed to take in the weather needed for the film.

Winter is Here

Show writers David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss announced earlier this month that winter finally arrived in Westeros. Weiss also stated that the sunny weather won't be much of a use for them. "We're starting a little bit later because, you know, then end of the season 'Winter is here,' and that means sunny weather doesn't really serve our purposes anymore," Weiss said.

"So we kind of pushed everything down the line so we can get some grim grey weather, even in the sunnier places we shoot," he added.

Ineligible for the Emmys 2017

'Game of Thrones' had won many awards under different types of categories. Ranging from Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Drama Series in 2015 to Critic's Choice for Best Drama Series in 2013. In this year's Emmy Awards, the TV series received twenty-three nominations. Unfortunately, they will be unqualified for next year's Emmy Awards, knowing that May 31 is the cut-off date.

Maisie Williams' Emmy Nomination

'Game of Thrones' star, Maisie Williams said she found out about her very first Emmy Nomination in the best way. On an exclusive interview with People, the young star revealed that she was FaceTiming her mother when the news reached her.

19-year-old Williams' shared that she was away from her mother last week. She was talking to her mother when a tweet from 'Game of Thrones' came up. She forgot that her twitter was also logged onto her mother's phone and seconds later her mother also saw the notification.

"So maybe like 10 seconds later, she got a ding on her phone and was like: 'Oh, hang on a minute!' and I knew exactly what she was looking at," Williams shared. She also informed after reading the news that she went silent for a moment and her mother was screaming with excitement.

Williams' also shared after her nomination, she bought her mother a bottle of gin. She will also take her mother as her date in the upcoming 68th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles this September 18.
