The upcoming "Final Fantasy XV" game has been in development for some time now and studio Square Enix has been slowly dishing out some of its major gameplay details.

Recently, during a question and answer session with gamers, developers working on the game explained the difficulty setting and combat mechanics of the title.

According to Wired, Square Enix used the feedback from players who were able to try out the "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae" demo when it was launched in early 2015.

Based on the experiences of gamers, the development studio decided to tweak the game's difficulty modes. Instead of going with a traditional setting seen in most games today, Square Enix introduced a system where gamers can freely switch between two modes.

According to Takizawa Masahi, the game's lead designer, these two options were designed to accommodate the different gameplay styles or preferences of players.

"The equivalent to difficulty level settings in FFXV is a system where you can switch between different battle modes," he said in a response posted on the game's forum page. "By having this ability to switch modes, we want to make it so that both players who like action oriented, technical gameplay and those who want to fight at a slower, more relaxed pace can all enjoy the combat in their own style."

"The switching system is a key part of the gameplay that we decided to introduce based on the feedback we received from the 'Episode Duscae' demo," he added. "We will go into more detail about this system closer to the game's launch so stay tuned for more information."

Aside from the battle sequences, another aspect of the game that players were able to try out in the demo was the warp abilities. This ability allows characters to teleport to different points on the map.

According to lead level designer Terada Takefumi, this ability will be available for different environments and maps once the final version of the game comes out. In addition, the designer also hinted that Square Enix is working on incorporating the feature in aerial combat modes, Siliconera reported.

"The warp ability that lets you teleport instantly to high up locations us a vital part of FFXV's battle system," he said. "The ability to use multiple warp points in a strategic manner is especially prevalent in the game's large scale battles over urban terrain."

"It is not just the buildings though, and we have also created exciting aerial battles with flying foes and gigantic boss enemies, so watch out for those," Takefumi added.

"Final Fantasy XV" does not have a specific release date yet but the game is scheduled to arrive for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime this year.
