Shortly after Microsoft unveiled the official lineup of next month's Games with Gold program, Sony made its own announcement for the upcoming free games in December.

The six titles will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita platforms.

Gamers will be able to access the free games starting on the first Tuesday of December. Like Sony's previous giveaway programs, the six titles will only be available for PlayStation Plus members, as noted in the PlayStation Blog.

For PlayStation 3 owners, they'll be able to get "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" and "SSX." The first game originally debuted on the PlayStation Network on April of 2013. It takes place in a retro dystopian future set in 2007 and according to developer Ubisoft, it serves as a parody of the action sci-fi games and films that came out during the 80s.

"SSX," on the other hand, was released on 2000 exclusively for the PlayStation 2 console. Developed by Electronic Arts, it is the first installment in the "SSX" game series and heavily focuses on the extreme sport of snowboarding. In the game, players can choose from various characters that come with their own set of skills, abilities and riding style. They must then complete different courses filled with ramps, obstacles and rails.

Over at the PS Vita side, Sony will giveaway "Freedom Wars" and "Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken." "Freedom Wars" is a third-person RPG title that came out last year exclusively for Sony's handheld console. The game, which has a co-op mode, assigns players into a city-state known as a Panopticon. As a member of that region, the gamer must fight against the enemies of his or her Panopticon and help in the development of the city-state.

The second game PlayStation Vita owners will be able to access next month, "Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken," is an adventure platform title. Players take on the role of Hardboiled Chicken who's on a mission to save the world of Albatropolis from an evil penguin dictator. The game first came out in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 before arriving for the PlayStation Vita in 2013.

As for owners of Sony's PlayStation 4 console, they'll be able to play "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" for free next month. Originally released for the Microsoft Windows platform last year, "Gauntlet" is a hack-and-slash game that takes place inside various dungeons. It also has a multiplayer mode which can support up to four players.

Lastly, the second game for the PlayStation 4 is "King's Quest - Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember." As the first episode in the game series, "Chapter 1" follows the story of lead character Graham as he goes on a quest to become a king. The game came out in July of this year for various platforms.

As stated by Sony, these games will only be available for PlayStation Plus members in December.
