The highly anticipated game "Fallout 4" already came out earlier this week but fans of the open-world RPG have another thing to look forward to next year.

As confirmed by developer Bethesda, the mods that PC gamers will create for "Fallout 4" can also be played through the game's Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions.

The company previously announced that sometime during first half of 2016, it will release a Creation Kit for the PC version of "Fallout 4." This will contain various tools that gamers can use to create their own mods for the game.

According to Pete Hines, the marketing executive for Bethesda, gamers will also be able to enjoy these customized contents through their Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. The executive, however, admitted that details of the cross-platform mods are still unclear but he assured gamers that these will provide an enjoyable gameplay experience.

"We want to do it in a way that's easy," he told Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrd during an interview. "This is not about, 'You have to have a PC,' 'You have to do it yourself.' The idea is you go to play the game, there's a menu option, you click on it, and there's a bunch of stuff for you to download."

"And you click on the stuff that you want and you start playing a game with these new mods," he added. "So we want it to be a really streamlined, fun experience. There [are] still specifics that we have to work out. It's part of our post-launch plan."

As previously explained by the company, the Creation Kit for "Fallout 4" was developed by Bethesda with the help of Microsoft. Hines explained that Microsoft is the most suitable partner for the project due to the company's rich experience in both the Microsoft Windows and Xbox platforms.

There is no official release date yet for the Creation Kit but gamers can expect to see it sometime in early 2016. Bethesda already confirmed that support for the Creation Kit mods will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the same time.

As for the actual game, "Fallout 4" came out in North America, Australia and the United Kingdom on November 10. The game was able to make a successful debut and even managed to secure the number one spot in Steam's Top Games list during its launch day, according to Gamespot.

Peaking at 445,546 active players on November 10, "Fallout 4" was able to beat other major titles such as "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" and "Dota 2."
