Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony's Worldwide Studios, became one of the first individuals who was able to try out a virtual reality demo for "God of War."

According to the executive, after playing the game in first-person mode, he was immediately convinced that virtual reality will be the future of gaming.

Yoshida detailed his experience during Sony's Paris Games Week. He said that the "God of War" VR demo that he was able to try out was for the PlayStation 3.

After putting on the headset made by developers, he was surprised to see lead character Kratos' body when he looked down.

"It was actually on PS3 at Santa Monica Studios," Yoshida said during a panel event according to IGN. "A developer who'd been working on 'God of War' got me to try a handmade headset and when I put it one he used a 'God of War' game."

"I was Kratos in first-person view," he added. "When I looked down, I saw a strong man's body and I thought: I'm sold."

"God of War" is not the only game demoed for the PlayStation VR's technology. During the same event, development studio evolution also unveiled its prototype for the virtual reality version of the racing game "DriveClub."

As explained by the studio, the game technically runs on 60 frames per second. But, when played through a VR headset, it feels as if its running on 120 frames per second due the updated sensors used for the game, according to Eurogamer.

The demo version, however, is only a scaled-down version of the original title since it only features a circuit race around one track. Other elements in the game such as the weather system and rear-view mirrors were also disabled. But, according to Evolution, these will be added or addressed before the final virtual reality version of the game is released.

Sony also announced that it is planning on releasing "Tekken 7" for the PlayStation VR. However, the company did not reveal details of how its gameplay will run.

But, as pointed out in another article on IGN, the concept of playing a "Tekken" game on a virtual reality headset is a bit intriguing since it will most likely feature a first-person view. Although it is not yet clear how this will be done, developers will surely be able to pull this off. After all, a VR demo version was already made for "God of War" and it even impressed Sony's chief.
