An online retailer may have accidentally leaked the release information regarding the remastered version of the entire "BioShock" series.

According to the site, the "BioShock Collection" will arrive next month for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, Video Gamer reported.

However, Raru, the South African online retailer immediately took down the page of the game shortly after it was posted. Fortunately, its details can still be viewed through Google Cache.

Based on the site's post, pre-orders for "The BioShock Collection" have already started and it is scheduled to come out on November 27. The site also noted that the collection will be released for Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles.

If this is true, then gamers can expect to play through the entire "BioShock" series with better graphic quality. It will also mark the first time that the game series can be played on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

However, it is not yet clear if publisher 2K Games will actually release a remastered collection of the series. IGN contacted the company regarding the leak by the studio did not provide a definitive answer.

"2K doesn't respond to rumors or speculations," a representative from the company told the gaming news site.

Still, it will not come as a surprise if 2K releases a "BioShock Collection" since these kinds of remastered bundles are gaining popularity among gamers. As noted by Cinema Blend, Square Enix did the same thing with the release of "Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition" in 2014.

Likewise, Sony also launched a remastered version of "The Last of Us" for the PlayStation 4 last year. The company is also preparing to launch the "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" later this year before debuting "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

Going back to the "BioShock Collection," it also makes sense for 2K to release a remastered version of the franchise due to its market success. All three games from the series have received generally positive responses from the gaming community due to their narrative-driven storyline and smooth game play experience.

The first-person shooter game series kicked off in 2007 with the release of the first "BioShock" game for the Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS and OS X platforms. It was then followed by "BioShock 2" in 2010.

The third installment in the series, "BioShock Infinite," came out in 2013 for the same platforms. Although it doesn't strictly follow the first two games' storylines, it still features the same themes and game play experience.
