Lay, also known as Zhang Yixing of EXO-M received record-breaking pre-orders for his 2015 autobiography entitled, Standing Firm at 24 on Friday, Sept. 18. The book sold 50 copies per second within the first 24 minutes that it was made available online.

Standing Firm at 24 is a compilation of 24 important moments in Lay’s life. The autobiography is a photo book and includes Lay’s personal memoirs of debuting in South Korea, his personal feelings, and thoughts about working with EXO members.

“You only have one lifetime to do all the things you want. So don’t hesitate. Go Chase your dreams,” said Lay.

According to TV Report, Standing Firm at 24 sold 68,573 copies in 24 minutes. Koreaboo reported that fans who ordered a book within the first 24 minutes received a limited edition of the autobiography along with the original version.

“I constantly receive letters from everyone. Consider this book as my reply to everyone’s letters which is also written for myself who will turn 24 [soon]!” wrote Lay on Weibo, a Chinese social media site.

“I think, with respect to the supposed surprise, that which I’ve prepared will always exceed your imagination by just that much. You guys didn’t guess that there would be such a surprise right~”

A Chinese address is required to pre-order a copy of Lay’s book. Standing Firm at 24 will be made available in stores across China on October 7, Lay’s 24th birthday. The book includes exclusive photos and personal messages from Lay to his fans.

Lay made his debut with S.M. Entertainment in 2008 as he was prepping for college entrance exams. Prior to becoming a member of EXO, he worked with SHINee as a dancer. Although his primary focus is on music and dancing, Lay is actively pursuing an acting career. He made his television acting debut in ‘To Be A Better Man,’ a Chinese drama series in Aug. 2015.

Lay will continue to tour with EXO in China and South Korea in the EXO’luXion concert tour series after working on his solo projects.

EXO is making its Japanese debut on Nov. 4, 2015. The boy band recorded two new singles, “Love Me Right” and “Drop That.” The band describes the songs as “the feeling of being with the person you like with an uplifting pop tune.”
