LG has officially released the details of its G Pad II 10.1 tablet through its website.

The upcoming device is expected to launch next month during this year's IFA event in Berlin.

According to the South Korean company's press release, the tablet is the direct successor of the G Pad 10.1, which came out in July of last year. Like its predecessor, the new device also sports a 10.1-inch display but with an upgraded resolution at 1920x1200 pixels.

In addition, the company also bumped up the device's processor to the 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800. Although this model is a bit outdated considering that Qualcomm is already preparing for the launch of the Snapdragon 820, it still performs much better than the first tablet model's 1.2 GHz S400, GSM Arena reported.

The latest model will also have a bigger RAM at 2GB. However, the internal storage is still 16GB just like its predecessor. The tablet also has microSD support for expandable storage.

Although the G Pad II 10.1 is the successor, its battery has been downgraded 7,400 mAh. The 2014 G Pad 10.1, on the other hand, came with an 8,000 mAh battery. Despite the downgrade, 7,400 mAh is still big in terms of battery capacity. LG noted that this capacity will keep tablet users entertained for hours.

As for its features, the tablet also comes with a new Reader Mode, which reduces the blue light emitted by the display. This lessens the strain on the eyes for those who enjoy reading e-books through their tablets.

Also, the G Pad II 10.1 features Dual Window. This is similar to the iOS 9's Split View which allows users to open and use two applications at the same time.

LG's latest member of the G Series runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as its stock operating system. It also comes with Microsoft Office and 100GB of OneDrive storage which can be used for two years.

The device is expected to be officially introduced during LG's presentation at the IFA event scheduled to take place from September 4 to 9. Its availability and pricing details will be unveiled by the company during the launch event.

According to Chris Yie, LG's vice president and head of marketing communications, the G Pad II 10.1 was designed based on feedback from the company's supporters.

"The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers' feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption," the executive said in a press release. "Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts."
