Jeremy Lin believes that God positioned him to play for the Charlotte Hornets. Lin shared on his official website that although the team was not initially his top pick, he is aware that his life’s “journey has always had unexpected but divine turns and surprises.” The point guard asked fans for prayer.

"Praise God for me landing in Charlotte!! I truly believe God specifically placed me in Charlotte, as He left one obvious door open and closed the rest,” wrote Lin. “Initially, Charlotte wasn't even on my list of top destinations, but my journey has always had unexpected but divine turns and surprises."

“Prayer that I would build great chemistry with coach Clifford and my teammates in Charlotte," and "prayer that I wouldn't fall into a complacent or comfortable state spiritually during an offseason with less stress/pressure, but that I would greatly thirst and desire God's presence daily," he continued.

Lin gave credit and praise to God for giving him loyal fans who pray for him. He described his fans to be “an army of prayer warriors.” The Taiwanese basketball star began a prayer group in 2014 because some people had asked him how they could pray for him. Anyone can join the prayer group through his website www.jlin7.com by providing a valid email address and name.

Prayer is incredibly important to Lin in his Christian faith. He said that regardless of what may happen beyond his own control, prayer is a place that allows him to consistently find peace with God. Lin thinks of his fans as a blessing for willing to pray and support him spiritually.

Lin turns 27 years old on Sunday, Aug. 23. He recently wished his mother a happy birthday on Thursday. On Tuesday, he congratulated his younger brother Joe Lin for being officially signed to a professional basketball team, the Fubon Braves.
