Various sources are reporting that Apple's Macbook Air 2016 edition is expected to launch in October.

However, new rumors indicated that the company has delayed the next generation laptop's unveil to early next year instead.

According to Apple Insider, the decision to push back the launch of the upcoming Macbook Air was reportedly made by Apple in order to focus on its other high-profile project, namely the iPad Pro.

It has been previously reported that the company's next tablet model will be the largest iPad variant that it has produced. At 12.9 inches, the iPad Pro is expected to come with Intel's new Skylake processor.

Also, like the Apple Watch and the heavily rumored iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S, the upcoming iPad Pro will have Force Touch technology.

Originally, the iPad Pro is expected to come out in September but due to production issues, its launch has been moved to a later date. There are still no details regarding when it will be introduced but it will probably be unveiled before the year ends.

According to News Everyday, Foxconn will handle the manufacturing procedures of Apple's upcoming products. But with new iPads, iPhones and Macbooks slated to come out soon, the Cupertino-based tech giant does not want to overwhelm its manufacturing partner with various projects.

Instead, the company wants to focus first on the production of the new iPad Pro. Apple is reportedly worried that if it releases the Macbook Air 2016 and the iPad Pro at the same time, the former might stunt the sales of the latter.

But through separate launches, the company will be able to market its two devices fairly without dividing the attention of consumers.

As for the Macbook Air 2016, the laptop is expected to come in 11 and 13-inch size variants. Like the iPad Pro, it will also feature Force Touch technology as well as the Skylake chipset. It is also expected to run on the OS X El Capitan as its stock operating system.

As reported by Jobs&Hire, the basic version of the Macbook Air 2016 will pack 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. The mid-range variant, on the other hand will also come with 4GB of RAM but with 256GB of SSD storage space. The most expensive model, or the premium variant, is rumored to come with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD.

If rumors are true, then Apple could launch the Macbook Air 2016 sometime next year along with the Apple TV and iMac.
