As for the game's official release date, publisher Konami announced that the game's PC version will debut on September 1, along with the editions for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Originally, the PC game was supposed to come out on September 15 but due to the efforts of developers, Konami will be able to release the game at an earlier date.

"We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers," Tomotada Tashiro, head of Konami said according to Destructoid.

Unfortunately though, the online mode of "Phantom Pain" will not arrive in time for the release of the game's PC and console versions.

Konami didn't give out a specific reason regarding the delay of "Metal Gear Online" but it might be related to certain technical details of the game. According to the company the game's competitive-multiplayer mode, will arrive for the PlayStation and Xbox consoles on October 6.

The PC version of the online mode, however, won't be released until January of next year, Siliconera reported.
