Microsoft has revealed the official lineup of free games for next month's Xbox Games with Gold program.

For the month of August, Xbox Live subscribers will be treated to four new action-packed titles including "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes."

Like in previous editions of the program, next month's Xbox Games with Gold offers two games each for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 consoles. However, only those who are members of Xbox Live will be able to download the games for free, according to the Major Nelson site.

The Xbox One titles for next month include "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" and "How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition."

The first game can be downloaded from August 1 to 31. Officially released in March of last year, "Ground Zeroes" follows the story of Big Boss, voiced by actor Kiefer Sutherland.

The game is set in 1975 after the events of "Metal Gear Sold: Peace Walker." Big Boss' main objective is to infiltrate Camp Omega to extract three individuals who hold information regarding the enemy forces.

"How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition," on the other hand can be downloaded by Xbox Live subscribers from August 16 to September 15. It comes with six DLCs that offer gamers a wide variety of survival scenarios including being stuck in an island infested by zombies.

Released by Ecko Software in October, 2014, the game features a third-person perspective and lets gamers craft weapons and other basic survival tools using various items.

As for the Xbox 360, the lineup features "Metro 2033" and "Metro: Last Light." The former will be available August 1 to 15 while the latter can be downloaded during the second half of the month.

"Metro 2033" is based on the 2005 Russian novel of the same title. The game is a first-person shooter with survival-horror elements.

Set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow that was ravaged by a nuclear war in 2013, players can use different weapons to take on mutants and hostile human enemies. Most parts of the game take place inside the city's metro system.

The game first came out for the PC and Xbox 360 in 2010. Its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released in 2014.

Its sequel, "Metro: Last Light," debuted in 2013. Like "Metro 2033," the second game is a first-person shooter. It takes place a year after its prequel following main character Artyom's missile strike against the mutants, who are called Dark Ones.
