A leaker has revealed the specs of the LG's upcoming G Pad 2.

Based on the details, the successor of the LG G Pad 8.3 will sport upgraded features and could possibly be released sometime in October of this year, Phone Arena reported.

According to a post by tipster Leaksfly on his Weibo account, the upcoming tablet from LG will have an 8.3-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, confirming speculations that the G Pad 2 will be an updated version of the G Pad 8.3.

In addition, the tablet will be powered by the Snapdragon 805 chipset, which is considered as a significant upgrade over its predecessor's Snapdragon 600 processor. Aside from a more powerful chip, LG also equipped the G Pad 2 with more RAM at 3GB.

The device will also have a bigger internal storage of 32GB. Like the G Pad 8.3, the G Pad 2 will also come with microSD card support.

For its camera configuration, the G Pad 2 will house an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper, which is a major upgrade considering that its predecessor came with a 5 and 1.3-megapixel setting.

Also, one of the significant changes that the upcoming tablet will sport is its stock operating system. When the G Pad 8.3 officially came out in 2013, it ran on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It was then updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat before receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

For the new version, LG is expected to equip it with the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Being the latest version of the Lollipop, future G Pad 2 owners will get to enjoy more features and enhancements than those with Android 5.0 Lollipop devices.

In addition, as reported in previous roll outs, the latest version of the Lollipop comes with patches designed to fix certain bugs and glitches that came with version 5.0.

As to when the G Pad 2 will be unveiled, the South Korean tech giant will most probably stick with its traditional timeline. In 2013, LG introduced the G Pad 8.3 in September. A month later, the tablet debuted in stores.

Following this schedule, LG could officially release the G Pad 2 in October of this year, according to Tech Frag.

However, for now, these details are still based on rumors and speculations. LG has not yet made any announcements regarding the details of the G Pad 2. Also, the tablet's pricing information and regional availability are still unconfirmed.
