Edenilson Steve Valle, a 21-year-old male latino was found dead in actress Demi Moore’s pool in her Beverly Hills home on Sunday, July 19. Valle suffered death by drowning. Officials confirmed that Moore and her family members were not present at the location.

“I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news. The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends,” said 52-year-old Moore through her publicist Heidi Lopata.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received a dispatch call early Sunday morning at around 5 a.m. When paramedics arrived on site, they started CPR, but were unsuccessful in reviving Valle. USA Today reports that the young man was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m.

Sgt. A. Bone from the Los Angeles Police Department said that Valle was one of Moore’s staff members. Mike Lopez, another LAPD officer told TheWrap that “about six individuals” had a small gathering at Moore’s residence. According to Bone, Moore’s assistant threw a party at her house “in her absence.”

Valle “was one of about six guests at Moore's 6,716-square-foot mansion. Partygoers told investigators he’d been floating on a raft and possibly fell asleep before toppling into the water,” reports New York Daily News. LA County coroner Lt. Fred Corral was told by Valle’s friends and family members that he did not know how to swim.
