Details of what might be Samsung's Galaxy S5 Neo were leaked through a benchmark test site.

Based on the device's listed features, it carries almost the same specs as the Galaxy S5 except for its processor and front-facing camera.

The device ran by Geek Bench has the model number SM-G903F. Although the site did not mention that it is actually the Galaxy S5 Neo, various sources speculated that it is the upcoming mid-range handset from Samsung.

The last time the public saw a Neo handset model from Samsung was in April of last year, almost two years after the official launch of the company's 2012 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3.

However, even though the South Korean tech giant released the Galaxy S3 Neo in 2014, it did not develop a Neo version for the Galaxy S4.

This time however, rumors suggest that Samsung is preparing to revive its Neo line with the release of the Galaxy S5 Neo.

According to the information provided by Geek Bench, the SM-G903F device is powered by the octa-core Exynos 7580 chipset, as opposed to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 SoC found in the LTE or U.S. version of the Galaxy S5.

Despite the change, the test results posted by Geek Bench indicates that Samsung's Exynos 7580 performs almost similarly as the Snapdragon 801, according to Android Headlines.

The site also revealed that the Galaxy S5 Neo pack 2GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.

Aside from the chipset, it seems Samsung has also upgraded the Galaxy S5 Neo's front camera. From its predecessor's 2-megapixel secondary shooter, the Neo variant of the Galaxy S5 will now come with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. As noted by Sam Mobile, this is the same camera configuration used by Samsung on its current flagship devices the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The upcoming device's other specs, however, mirror those of the original Galaxy S5. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S5 Neo is expected to sport a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels.

It will also come with 16GB of internal storage and run on a 2800mAh battery. The Galaxy S5 Neo will also have the same dimensions as the Galaxy S5 at 142x72.5x8.1 millimeters. However, it is not yet clear if the handset will house the same 16-megapixel rear camera.

It is expected to launch with single SIM and dual SIM variants.

Despite the leaked details about the Galaxy S5 Neo, Samsung has not yet released a statement to address these claims or the actual features of the rumored handset.
