Game developer Robomodo confirmed that those who will purchase the upcoming "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will receive exclusive content.

In addition, the development studio has released the first game play trailer for the highly anticipated skateboarding game.

According to an announcement by Robomodo president Josh Tsui through the PlayStation Blog, gamers can now pre-order "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 through Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop.

Tsui noted that the game for Sony's PlayStation consoles will come with special content. Specifically, PlayStation gamers will be able to customize the heads of their characters using those from popular video game icons. These include Ratchet from the "Ratchet & Clank" series, Sackboy from "LittleBigPlanet" and the killer clown from "Twisted Metal," Sweet Tooth.

Gaming site Gamerant noted that the heads of these three characters can only be accessed by PlayStation owners through the game's Create a Skater mode. Also, they will not improve a skater's skills nor unlock special tricks, combos or moves. Instead, gamers can only use them to add a bit of flare to their characters.

Robomodo's announcement does not automatically mean that only PlayStation platforms will get exclusive content. The game developer also promised that Xbox 360 and Xbox One fans will also get special in-game items. However, the studio has not yet revealed what those items could possibly be.

Aside from the exclusive content, Robomodo also unveiled the game play trailer for "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5." The clip showed off various characters skating across different maps in the game including the Warehouse and School. Some of the professional skateboarders featured in the trailer include Nyjah Huston and Tony Hawk.

"Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5," the latest major installment in the "Tony Hawk" game series, is set to debut on September 29 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game's versions for the current-gen consoles, namely the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, are scheduled to come out sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.

According to previous revelations by the game's makers, "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" will feature an impressive online multiplayer mode that can accommodate up to 20 players. Using this feature, gamers can enjoy a laid back skate session with their friends, take on missions together or compete against other players from the around the world.

However, the developer noted that these online features will only be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions of the game.
