The details of Microsoft's upcoming phablet have been leaked through a benchmark site.

Based on the listed specs, the Lumia 940 XL will be marketed as a high-end device, GSM Arena reported.

According to a post by benchmark site GFXBench, the next flagship device from Microsoft will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD touch screen display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The device will be powered by an octa-core processor from Qualcomm.

Although the chipset's model was not mentioned by GFXBench, Phone Arena speculated that it might be the Snapdragon 810 since the Lumia 940 XL will also come with Qualcomm's Adreno 430 GPU.

The site also listed that the phablet will pack 1.5GB of RAM and 14GB of internal storage. Previous rumors, on the other hand, suggested that the device will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory.

As for its camera features, the Lumia 940 XL will feature a 17-megapixel rear snapper and a 4.8-megapixel front shooter.

Other built-in features of the device include an accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, NFC and light sensor.

A rumor, which emerged earlier this June, hinted that the Lumia 940 XL might come with an iris scanner. According notorious leaker evleaks, Microsoft has decided to equip its upcoming device, codenamed as Cityman, with an eye sensor instead of a fingerprint reader.

Although Microsoft has not yet released a statement to address the rumors, the Cityman is believed to be the Lumia 940 XL. The Talkman, on the other hand, is another codenamed device that is expected to be the Lumia 940.

As for the two models' possible release dates, it is widely believed that the Lumia 940 and its XL variant will be the first Microsoft devices that will come with the Windows 10 OS. If this is true, then the two handsets will most probably come out sometime in September of this year, following the OS' debut for mobile devices.
