Microsoft has officially announced the lineup of free games coming to Xbox consoles in July for the company's Xbox Games with Gold program.

In addition, the tech giant confirmed that starting next month, the program will include two free games for the Xbox One console.

According to an update posted on Xbox Wire, July marks the second year of Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold subscription program. To celebrate its anniversary, Microsoft will be giving away two free games for the Xbox One every month starting this July.

For this month, Gold members will be treated to "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and "So Many Me" for the Xbox One.

The former will be available through Games with Gold from July 1 to 31. First released in October 29, 2013, "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" takes players in the Caribbean during the 18th century. Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, gamers take on the role of pirate Edward Kenway as he becomes a key figure in the war between Templars and the Assassins.

"So Many Me," on the other hand, is a puzzle-platform game that first came out in July of last year and will be available from July 16 to August 15. Gamers play as Filo, a round and little green creature. The objective of the game is to lead his group of clones to take on various obstacles and creatures to save their world from an evil force.

As for Xbox 360 users, July's Games with Gold program features "Plants vs. Zombies" and "Gears of War 3."

Like its mobile counterpart, the "Plants vs. Zombies" for the Xbox 360 is a tower defense game. By strategically using a variety of plants and other garden-based ornaments, players must successfully defend their house from the advancing horde of zombies. The game will be available on Games with Gold during the first half of July.

The second Xbox 360 game, "Gears of War 3," will be available from July 16 to 31. This is a 3rd-person shooter game that heavily relies on squad-based tactics. It is the third main installment in the "Gears of War" franchise.
