K-LOVE’s 3rd Annual Awards show exemplified the Bible's teachings on religion by honoring God and aiding orphans in Haiti, while awarding achievements in Christian culture on Sunday, May 31 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee. Fans voted for their favorite nominees. Hands and Feet Project, a nonprofit organization pledged to build 4 homes per 2 million votes for Haiti’s orphans. The polls closed on Saturday night.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world,” states James chapter 1 verse 27.

The awards show honors Christian rappers, athletes, films, television shows, books, authors, singers, musicians, bands. The K-LOVE Awards is a three night event. On Saturday, celebrities participated in a 5K race to raise money for Haiti’s orphans. Fans were invited to partake in the race.

Hands and Feet Project is dedicated to the relief of Haiti’s current orphan crisis. In 2012, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a nonprofit organization for children’s rights and emergency relief for disaster victims reported that there are 430,000 orphans in Haiti. The Project aims to build Children’s Villages, safe homes and communities for the children of Haiti suffering from psychological trauma, hunger, and homelessness.

“Every vote counts. With every 500,000 votes up to 2 million total, Hands and Feet Project commits to building a family-style home, caring for up to 8 orphaned or abandoned children,” states the official K-Love Fan Award website. K-LOVE is a Christian music radio station in the United States. The radio program is on over 440 FM radio stations nationwide. The awards show was sponsored by Pepsi.
