An online tipster has revealed the new designs for the rugged version of Samsung's Galaxy S6.

Dubbed as the Galaxy S6 Active, the latest handset from the South Korean tech firm will come in black, camouflage blue, and camouflage white designs.

The Galaxy S6 Active was made by Samsung exclusively for AT&T. As its name suggests, and based on its external design, this model was created for users who spend most of their time in the outdoors.

Based on the images leaked by Twitter user @evleaks according to Pocket Now, the Galaxy S6 Active will come in three color variants. The first design comes with a flat black finish while the other two feature digital camouflage patterns. The camo versions of the Galaxy S6 Active will be available in dark blue and white variants.

In addition to the new designs, the casing of the upcoming handset will be waterproof.

Aside from sporting a different look, the speaker of the Galaxy S6 Active has been relocated on the back side of the smartphone, instead of being on the bottom portion as seen on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models, BGR reported.

Also, it seems the Galaxy S6 Active will not have a fingerprint sensor since this feature was also not included in the Galaxy S5 Active, which came out last year.

Another major difference that can be expected between the Galaxy S6 Active and Galaxy S6 is the battery pack. Various sources noted that the rugged handset will be equipped with a larger 3500mAh non-removable battery.

As for its other technical features, the Galaxy S6 Active will most likely sport the same specifications as its conventional counterpart.

Phone Arena speculated that like the Galaxy S6, the Active variant will probably be powered by Samsung's 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset and feature a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. The upcoming handset might also have 3GB of RAM and run on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

There is no official launch date yet for the Galaxy S6 Active but it is expected to be unveiled sometime during the second or third quarter of this year.
