Microsoft is rumored to be preparing to announce its next flagship tablet, the Surface Pro 4 during its annual Build Conference.

Although the tech giant has not yet released any information regarding the device, some of its rumored specifications have already been leaked online.

TechRadar noted that the tablet might be unveiled during the conference which began on April 29 and is scheduled to end on May 1.

This may seem like the appropriate event for Microsoft to introduce its latest product. However, it might be a bit early to do so since the company just unveiled the Surface 3 a couple of weeks ago. It has been speculated that the Surface Pro 4 might debut in October, the rumored release month of the Windows 10.

Although the Surface Pro 4 still does not have an official launch date, some sources are already reporting about its features. According to Design & Trend, the Chinese news site cnBeta mentioned that the Surface Pro 4 will come in two versions. The first one will feature a 12-inch display, like the Surface Pro 3, while the other model will have a 14-inch screen.

The bigger version suggests that Microsoft might be trying to compete with Apple's iPad Pro and other large surface tablets with the release of the Surface Pro 4.

For its processor, Microsoft is reportedly planning on equipping the rumored tablet with a fifth generation Intel Core i-series CPU to make it more powerful than its predecessor. However, like the Surface 3, the Surface Pro 4 will also not have internal fans. To prevent the device from overheating, Microsoft will most likely incorporate tiny holes in the tablet's body.

In addition, Design & Trend noted that the Surface Pro 4 will probably come with the new Windows 10 OS and have 16 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

As for its accessories, Brian Hall, Microsoft's general manager for its Surface line of products, wrote in a previous blog post that all external add-ons of the Surface Pro 3 can be used with its successors.

This means the Surface Pro 3's covers, docking stations and various adapters are compatible with the rumored Surface Pro 4.
