Easter Sunday is the day Christians gather to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us that Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a stone tomb. Jesus rose again on the third day. When his disciples went to the tomb, they could not find his body. After his resurrection, he appeared to many people. This year, the day falls on April 5, 2015.

7 Bible verses on Jesus' resurrection:

2) “And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.” – Mark 16:6

5) “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:11
