Less than a month after the new Samsung Galaxy S6 has been unveiled, the device will soon have its own golden version.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Galaxy S6 flagship, as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge with the curved edge screen, will both have their golden editions.

As usual, the culprit for these luxury devices is manufacturer Gold Genie, which has been creating golden smartphones for the last couple of years.

In the report, the UK-based company would begin getting pre-orders for its new golden smartphones by March 20.

For interested buyers, the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge would reportedly cost £1,664 or about $2,457. This amount of money would be able to buy three Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.

Like what Gold Genie does to other smartphones, the golden versions of the new Samsung phones will be covered with 24K gold. Currently, there are no additional details whether it will release a rose gold and platinum version - two editions that often accompany its 'basic' 24k gold edition.

The interesting point here is that Gold Genie often does not release golden versions of devices that have just been recently announced. In fact, both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have not been officially released to its initial target market yet.

For those who missed Samsung's keynote during the Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy S6 flagship boasts a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, an Exynos chipset, and a number of storage options. There are reportedly options for 32GB, 64GB and 128GB of built-in memory.

However, these options come with a price because Samsung has scratched out the microSD card slot from its newly-announced flagship.

Also on board is a 16MP primary camera that can shoot 2k videos, and boasts optical image stabilization (OIS). Meanwhile, in front is a 5MP front shooter that can record 1080p clips.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Edge is almost identical to its sibling based on its specs. However, it adds an additional dual curved edge feature that provides more possible interactions between the user and the phone.

In a recent report by Tech Times, the two high-end Samsung devices will be available in the four major carriers in the US beginning April 11. These carriers include T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and AT&T, which would certainly provide easy-to-pay subsidized contracts for their subscribers.
