Capcom announced through the "Resident Evil Revelations 2" Steam page that it will release an official co-op mode for the PC version of the game. The news came days after the same game play mode was cancelled by the developer.

Originally, Capcom advertised through the game's Steam page that the "Revelations 2" PC counterpart will feature a local offline co-op play for Campaign and Raid mode. However, in late February, the developer updated gamers and said the feature has been pulled out.

Capcom explained that the decision to cancel the feature was made in order to ensure that the game play experience using various PC settings will be stable.

The announcement disappointed fans of the game and in response, a modder who goes by the name FluffyQuack created and released an unofficial co-op mode for the PC version of "Revelations 2," according to Game Spot.

Then, in March 2, Capcom stated that its development team is working on an official local co-op feature for the PC game.

"Following 'Resident Evil Revelations 2' PC player feedback, we've got some new information to share," the company wrote on the game's Steam page. "The development team has been exploring various options and we're in the process of creating a way for players to utilize a local co-op feature."

Currently, the feature is available in its beta version and can be accessed through Steam. Through the beta co-op feature, gamers will be able to cooperatively play the Raid and Campaign modes using a split-screen format.

To play the beta version, gamers need to open their Steam Library list and right-click "Resident Evil Revelations 2" and select "Properties." Then, they should click on the "Betas" tab and type in the case-sensitive code bhr2qasplitmaster00 in the "Enter beta access code" field.

Once the code has been checked, they need to select "qa_split_master" from the toolbar's pull-down menu and click the "Close" tab to download the beta patch. Gamers can then play the beta version after launching "Resident Evil Revelations 2."
