It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S6 has taken inspiration from Galaxy Note Edge as the next flagship smartphone will reportedly come with a curved display.

Based on the promo image that was posted by U.S. mobile carrier T-Mobile on their official website, a new Samsung phone had been tagged with the caption ‘Six Appeal’, possibly implying the new Galaxy S6. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be introduced at the Mobile World Congress on March 1.

The image gives a view of only one side that clearly shows a curved edge, which strongly resembles that of the Galaxy Note Edge. Visible on the said curved edge is a display of various types of content, such as icons and notifications.

Although the Galaxy S6 will reportedly come with a single curved edge, other reports have claimed that curved edges will be incorporated on both the S6's right and left sides.

In addition, it is rumored that Samsung will be releasing two different S6 models. One will feature a front-facing display while the other will have a three-sided display.

Aside from T-Mobile's attempt to tease customers with the upcoming curved edge smartphone, Samsung also released a video titled 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015- The Next Galaxy' which suggested the possible integration of metal into its upcoming phone.

Phones in the Galaxy S lineup have been manufactured with a plastic body which may not be giving its users the 'premium feel' experience.

Meanwhile, the South Korean company's sales and market shares declined as it faced increasing competition from Chinese manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, that have been producing replicas of popular devices.

Samsung has also been in constant competition with Apple as the tech giant unveiled its big-screened smartphone lineup that included the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Therefore, Samsung is in need of special features, including the curved edge display, that would pave the way for the success of the upcoming Galaxy S6.

Still, mobile carriers are apparently excited about the new phone, as stated by a story in the Korea Herald published last Sunday. Samsung reportedly unveiled the S6 alongside new Edge smartphones to top officers from U.S. mobile carriers T-Mobile, Sprint and Vodafone.
